Equine Rehabilitation & Placement Program

There is rarely a time when we do not have a horse in our care that has come to us to be placed in a new home or is in need of some extra care prior to being placed in a new home.

We do not refer to ourselves as a rescue, (for all intensive purposes we are called one) simply because we do not feel that all horses or animals that come into our care should be considered rescues.

We do not place before and after pictures of our horses on a website, we do not release information about previous owners, nor will we make unqualified, assessments or statements on a horses history.

Many people find themselves with an animal that is in need of a home, and the owners simply cannot continue to care for the horse any longer, or they need to find the animal a home but do not wish to sell the horse or give it away themselves with the fear it will end up in the wrong hands.

Yes, many of them have issues, or need weight, perhaps they are not trained.

We do limit the amount of horses or livestock that we can take in, and we do not take in horses that a vet has recommended be euthanized.

We do not go looking for animals, buying them at auction etc. We are simply here someone needs us.

We do not charge adoption fees on horses over 18, unsound, or have medical issues etc.

Our set fee for all young horses that are sound is $500.00 or less. If that horse is trained and returned to us, the adoption fee, always stays the same.

If a horse is in our care less than a week, the adoption fee is waived.

On younger sound horses we offer ownership with the condition that a no auction, no slaughter contract stays with the horse for life and we are always made aware of where the animal is.

Each of our contracts is specific to each individual horse and its needs.

We do not allow ourselves permission to confiscate a horse from the adopter.

Instead we require either the OSPCA or a licensed Veterinarian to state that the horse is not being cared for, has been neglected, abused or being denied necessary medical treatment.

Please Call Stephanie at 705-887-5787 or email for further information

Please note: We do offer to help owners place horses from their own homes, where they may choose the adopters. We do this at no cost when the horse is being placed for free. We will also assist the owner with a contract that will meet the needs of the themselves, the adopters and the horse.

All visits to the farm are by appointment only.
